Back when I lived in Tuscaloosa, AL, my buddies and I would make monthly pilgrimages to Birmingham for one reason: to visit Taj India, some of the tastiest western-style Indian food I've had in the south. Heck, we even wrote a song about the place that we'd sing on the way up the 20/59 freeway. Get the mango lassi. Get the sag paneer. And then get a couple breath mints to go.
